My Provo home was built in the 1920s and the windows are painted shut. Can they be replaced without wrecking the original woodwork?
Yes — this is our most common job in the Maeser, Dixon, and Joaquin areas. We use insert-style replacements that fit inside the existing opening, so the interior casings and exterior brick molding stay untouched. You keep the historic look from the street and gain modern double- or triple-pane glass that actually opens.
Do you install egress windows for basement apartments?
We do, all over Provo. If you're renting out a basement near BYU or UVU, bedroom windows must meet egress code — minimum opening size, sill height, and a window well. We cut the foundation, set the window and well, and leave you with an installation that passes inspection.
Will new windows stand up to the canyon wind on the east bench?
That wind out of Provo Canyon is exactly why we don't install builder-grade product up there. For bench homes we use frames with reinforced meeting rails and heavier-duty locking hardware, plus a full-perimeter seal rated for pressure swings — so gusty nights stay quiet and draft-free.
